Labour Day was celebrated at Doon International School, Jammu with full aplomb to commemorate the struggles ,sacrifices and unforgettable services of the workers and labour across the world. Amidst the rich harvest celebration of Baisakhi across the lush green ambience of Doon International School,Jammu the entire school sparkled with the brightest sheen of yellow and gold depicting the unfathomable worth of the harvest festival of Baisakhi and the purposeful celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti. The school premises was aptly decorated depicting the mood of harvest season. The children came dressed in traditional punjabi colourful outfits adorned with ornaments and accessories.Through relevant speeches and poem recitation ,they were briefed about various aspects of this festival of harvest. A lot of theme based activities were planned with the motive of helping children learn the significance of the special day which included mesmerizing Punjabi Group Song followed by scintilating Bhangra and Gidda performance surrounded by the cultural depiction of Phulkari,Golden Wheat grass, Aata Chakki and the unforgettable 'Suji ka Halwa'. Children spoke fluently in English, Hindi and Punjabi explaining the history of the festival of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti as well. Raising awareness about physical health, mental well being and various measures to combat global health changes “World Health Day” was celebrated in Doon International School where in students were sensitised to remain healthy by eating nutritious food and maintaining personal hygiene along with being doing regular exercise.
Special Assembly was conducted by the students of class IV, V and VIII where they participated in the various activities planned for the day.

Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and to create memories that last forever. On 24th December, 2022 the festival of Christmas was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at Doon International School Jammu.A special assembly showcasing Nativity was put up by the students . The students shared the background of the existence of Santa Claus. Carols echoed in the campus. The students also narrated the story of Charles Dickens’ ‘Christmas Carols’ to communicate the meaning of Christmas to all present.The power packed dance performance stunned everyone to the core. The elements of energy and momentum could be witnessed in the children as they came forward and presented their items. One of the students had disguised himself as Santa Claus. Santa’s entry made the little children happy and excited during the assembly.

The cultural spectacle began with melodious welcome song by the teachers followed by an orchestration symphony which was a mingling of vocal and instrumental consonance. The proficient DABS of DIS Jammu presented buoyant program presenting a feeling of contentment and astounding zeal. Every performance was of elegance, ardor and rhythmic contentment drawing a huge applause and heed from the audience. The hit of the celebration was the finale performance of Punjabi Bhangra magnetically gripping the audience in its dramatic presentation.

National Pollution Control Day celebrated in school premises by our little DABS. Our little DABS from Phulwari wing took part in the rally holding pluck cards to commemorate the day and were seen planting trees along with the Administrator of the school to spread awareness about the ecology and environment. The students of Doon Internatuonal school Jammu participated District Athletics Championship held at Padmashri Padma Sachdev Govt PG Colloege for Women,Gandhi Nagar on 20th November,2022(Sunday) for both boys and girls under the aegis of J&K Amateur Association and J&K Sports Council and brought laurels to the school by winning 1 gold,2 silver and one bronze medal.

Doon International School celebrated Grandparents' Day to dignify the grandparents of the students of Kindergarten to class 3. On this occasion,Ms. Mamta Sharma, KPS, SP south zone Jammu graced the occasion with her esteemed presence as the chief guest of the event. The programme commenced with the welcome address by the principal Dr Vikesh Kaur followed by the propitious illumination of the lamp. In her address, she delibrated upon the need of taking an onus by the entire society to imbibe correct set of values to our generation so that we can have an optimistic society where all elderly are respected for their incredible contribution to the society. She announced with elation that Doon International School Jammu has taken it as utmost priority to awaken the young and tender minds so that they instill the social values and strengthen the family bonds and do something special for their grand parents who are the soul of everdelibratedOn the occasion, children in their own appropriate way, acknowledged and applauded the grand parents for their fondness, devotion and sustenance.The grandparents, both paternal and maternal, were embraced by the staff with colourful badges fabricated by their grandchildren. A beguiling welcome dance by the students of Kindergarten set the stage for an array of astounding rendition. Our blooming buds of play group were looking quite voguish and devious in their special attires while walking on the ramp pretty exuberantly and enthusiastically that helped us in making the event a grand success. The Dabs of class 1 rendered a mellifluous group song to exhibit their appreciation towards the grandparents and commend them for their circumspection and benediction. The dance performances by class 2 were also grooved by the guests and they were enchanted to heed up their grandchildren executing on the stage. In order to speak of spiritual and worldly love, pupils of class 3 acquainted a Qawwali to captivate the admirers. The grandparents also fancied disparate games and dance orchestrated for them. They had a wondrous time playing musical chairs, garland making and toffee wrapping. The day filled with amusement and delight was recognized by the elderly who lavishly enjoyed with their little ones. The programme was also graced by the esteemed presence of the chairman Mr.GN Tantray, Vice chairman Mr. MA Tantray, Administrator Mr. Leesan Tantray and all the chief coordinators and the staff of the school. Chief coordinator, senior wing of the school Ms Jasleen Kour also cilminated the programme Vote of Thanks.Overall the programme was a grand success and was appreciated by the lovely grand parents.

Keeping the same in view a picnic to 'Shikargah' was organized for the students of Classes I to IV where the students enjoyed a lot and had a great time together.
The Principal, Vice Principal and the staff of Doon International School Jammu appeared in a two-day workshop administered by CBSE on inclusive education. Inclusive education is one of the top challenges in today’s world, and whilst educational systems make efforts to become more inclusive. This workshop laid emphasis on why new teachers must be developed to be more inclusive in their future practice. It was quite plenteous and all the delegates learnt a lot. Moreover all the attendees were quite dazzled by the excellent management of what has turned out to be a successful and highly stimulating workshop. Such seminars involve enormous amounts of time and energy. A sincere gratitude towards CBSE for managing the workshop and bringing their expertise around the table and engaging the audience in such fruitful, constructive and open exchanges throughout two days of the wonderful workshop.
Diwali was celebrated in Doon International School with full fervor and zeal. Students participated in different activities to mark the festival of lights. The Candle and Diya Making Competition was organized for the junior students while the seniors engaged themselves in an Inter House Eco- Friendly Rangoli Making Competition to celebrate the forthcoming festival . Doon International School dominated District Level Rugby Championship 2022-23 by winning the overall championship. The championship was organised by District Youth Services and Sports .
Doon International School emerged the winner in under 19 girls and boys category and also got selected for Inter District Rugby Championship.

The students presented an array of performances to promote 'Girl Empowerment' and also to spread the idea that investing in girls and their education is a moral imperative and a matter of basic justice and equality. Keeping up with the tradition of celebrating Gandhi Jayanti every year on a grand scale as a mark of respect to the 'Father of Nation' promoting the Gandhian school of thought; Doon International School, Jammu organised an extravagant event on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, promoting 'Swatchh Bharat Abhiyaan' and the use of 'Khadi' depicting 'Self-belief' and 'Simplicity ' as the major factors of success in life. The program commenced with a beautiful poem presented by a student of class VIII depicting the heart touching ethical and moral values of Gandhi ji followed by a brief yet exceptionally meaningful and eloquent skit depicting the fundamental principles of Mahatma Gandhi's life i.e Satya, Ahimsa, Paropkar, Karamnishtha and Sadbhavna. It was followed by a mesmerizing group song and the phenomenal dance performance showcasing the philosphical and pragmatic ideals of Gandhi ji. . A procession was taken out by the students in the Chowadhi Area escorted by DIS teachers.It is pertinent to mention that the historical Dandi March scene was recreated by the students of DIS.
Children dressed up as Gandhi ji depicting the young Gandhigiri created an apt ambience showing their love and respect for the Great Leader who is the epitome of simplicity, sacrifice, self-belief, peace, Truth and Non-violence.

Hindi is a language of tenderness, solidarity and brotherhood. HINDI DIWAS is celebrated on 14th September every year with great pride and vigour as Hindi was adopted as the official language of our nation, India on September 14, 1949. Moreover, The Slogan Writing competition was held in school for the students of different classes. The teachers also elucidated the significance of our Mother Language to the students.

Doon International School Jammu organized the ceremonial presentation of the Investiture Ceremony for the Student Council of the session 2022-23 with great dignity and high esteem in the most candid way. The Chief Guest for this solemn occasion was Mr Zaheer Abbas Jafri ,SDPO East . Mr.Jafri was extended a formal and gracious welcome by the Chairman Mr. G.N.Tantray, Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur, Vice Principal Dr.Sarita Moza Kaul,staff ,Students and the parents of Doon International School. The Investiture Ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries followed by the formal welcome speech by the Principal,Dr.Vikesh Kaur presenting the high profile of the highly decorated Guest Mr. Zaheer Abbas Jafri,SDPO East.The students presented a splendid Classical dance performance alongwith welcome songs by the school choir and the teachers as well. The elected leaders of the school were conferred with badges and sashes by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Chairman and the Principal of the school. The Student Council took the pledge to uphold the school motto of 'Deeds Not Words' alongwith loyalty, truth and honour in high esteem with their heads held high. The oath ceremony was presided by the Ms.Vidushi Abrol,the anchor of the event. The Chief Guest congratulated the Student Council and shared his valuable experiences motivating the young leaders. He advised the entire Student Council to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties as leaders and also deliberated upon being respectful and truthful with all.
The Chairman Mr G.N.Tantray and the Principal Dr Vikesh Kaur congratulated the newly elected prefectorial body and inspired them to discharge the responsibility bestowed upon them with dedication, determination, sincerity and integrity. They advised them to be exemplary in their behaviour to don the mantle of leadership with pure commitment, confidence and competence. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by the Vice Principal followed by the proud recital of the National Anthem by the august gathering. The ceremonial event was coordinated by , Activity Coordinator, Sports Incharge and the Chief Coordinators of the school.
In a bid to motivate and encourage the students to adopt a healthier and fitter lifestyle, Doon International School celebrated “National Sports Day” by espousing the ‘Fit India Movement’ launched by our revered Prime Minister Narendra Modi on National Sports Day today. The students participated in multiple sports activities through out the day depicting their distinct fitness levels and enduring to enhance it through whole hearted endeavours . The juniors participated in Frog Race,Lemon & Spoon Race, Sack Race, Three Legged Race, Roller Skating and 100 m race , whereas the senior boys showcased their incredible skills in Kabaddi and senior girls received thunderous applause in close - finish Kho-Kho and Basketball matches respectively. While addressing the students, the Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur urged them to incorporate sports and fun - filled health programmes in their daily life to ensure a healthy mind encapsulated in a healthy body.
She also appreciated the great endeavours of the Sports faculty of the school for coordinating and arranging a plethora of sports activities on this auspicious day of “ National Sports Day “ saluting the great contribution of the sports champions of the nation and remembering the Sports icon of India , Major Dhyan Chand . The winners received medals for their stupendous performances in various sports activities and others were appreciated for their zealous participation.
The students of Doon International School Jammu were felicitated and awarded with the Certificates of appreciation by the Department of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing Government of Jammu and Kashmir for their outstanding participation in Green Life Contest on World Environment Day'2022. These efforts of the students were highly appreciated by the Chairman Mr. G. N. Tantray and the Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur as the entire contest was online and students participated on their own depicting their positive attitude and endeavours towards the Ecological and Environmental issues of today’s global scenario.
DOON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL JAMMU OUTSHINES IN DISTRICT WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIP
Students of Doon International School Jammu brought laurels to the school by clinching 2nd Runners up trophy and winning 10 gold,8 silver and 26 bronze medals in District Level Wushu Championship organised by Wushu Association of Jammu at Khelo India Centre Bhagwati Nagar.The championship was inaugurated by the former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K Mr.Kavinder Gupta and at the day of culmination and medal ceremony honourable Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation Mr. Chander Mohan Gupta was the Chief Guest.The proud gold medalists of Doon International School Jammu are Jaskaran, Rudransh, Sparsh, Tajveer,Salman,Sarfraz,Tehneez,Nabils,Ales,Sarvagya. The Chairman Mr G.N.Tantray and Principal Dr Vikesh Kaur congratulated the students for their splendid achievement and wished them good luck for the further high level championships in the future.They also appreciated the relentless efforts of the Wushu coach of the school Ms.Appu Jamwal and the CCA Coordinator Ms.Shivali Singh Pathania for bringing the best out of all the participants and adding to the glory of Doon International School Jammu through fantabulous performance.
Doon International School,Jammu participated in 8th District Rugby Championship and brought laurels to the school by winning under 18 both boys and girls category under the able guidance of their coach Mr.Harmert Singh.The championship was organised by District Jammu Rugby Association under the banner of J&K Rugby Association. The Chairman Mr.G.N.Tantray and the Principal, Dr Vikesh Kaur congratulated the teams for the commendable feat and asked them to keep taking part in such competitions for proper growth of body, mind and spirit.
Dahi Handi’ event was organized to mark the natkhat nature of Lord Krishna in which the students took an active participation in inter-house competition. Out of four houses, Dedication stood first and Determination was declared as second. 🍯 🎊

Doon International School celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with great zeal and fervour. A number of activities were organised to mark the occasion of 75 years of Indian Independence. Students presented a vibrant cultural program performing patriotic songs, poems , speeches , and splendid dance performances to enthral the atmosphere with patriotic enthusiasm. The highlight of the day was a scintillating skit presented by the students of junior classes depicting the glory of Indian Independence . The performances were so original that it left the audience spell bound. The entire ambience was exceptionally impactful enhancing the patriotic aura as children were dressed up in tricolour and were raising Tiranga high with the slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai “ . The Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur applauded the students for their heart-touching performances and focused upon the need for global peace, unity and brotherhood. She further congratulated the students and the staff on the celebration of 75 years of Independence and delebrated that this glorious Independence is precious for all of us and we all need to protect it as well as contribute in abundance to make our country proud through our own potential and capabilities. The Chairman of the school Mr.G.N Tantray also congratulated the entire DIS Fraternity and encouraged them to work hard towards the progress and prosperity of the motherland. Doon International School ,Jammu on 10-08-2022 celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with absolute fun and frolic encapsulated with various activities exhibiting emotions and devotion depicting the sensitivity towards all the siblings of the society. The divine bond of brothers and sisters was accentuated to an extraordinary festival of non-sectarian love and companionship by the girls. They earnestly participated in Rakhi- making contest and showcased their abilities by making rakhis and the boys of classes I-V extended their gratitude to the beautiful rakhis of the girls by depicting their creativity in Thank you cards for sisters. The boys of classes VI-X had engrossing time, flying kites during the Inter House Kite Flying Competition. Even the faculty members allied them in both the contests. The Principal Dr Vikesh Kaur in her address congratulated all on the occasion of this pious and sacred festival stating that the aim of such celebration is to sensitize the children with the ambience of affection,care empathy and benevolence and to inculcate the feeling of cordiality and consonance in them. She deliberated that celebration of such festivals not only brings families together but also acts as a mode of presentation of our values and emotions and creates a strong bond of humanity amongst the global community. The Chairman Mr G.N Tantray also extended his heartful wishes to all the children and the Teachers on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and advised them to spread a sense of love, respect and brotherhood all around to receive the same in return. Everyone enjoyed the exuberance of the festival and participated whole heartedly to mark it as a true celebration.

Sarita Koul, honored the occasion with their gracious presence. The programme
commenced with lighting of the lamp by the Honorable guests followed by a
beautiful and mesmerizing Welcome song by the music choir of the school.
A heart touching dance presented by the young girls of the school was a sight to
be hold reflecting the theme of ‘BETI BACHAO BETI PADAO’. The
programme held with a showcase of yoga by the blooming buds of the school
depicting and promoting the ‘FIT INDIA’ initiative of the Prime Minister. The
music department presented folk songs on demand of the honorable guests. Ms.
Saima Khan motivated the audience with her advisable words on the
Sustainable Development goals and the empowerment of Panchayats leading to
an incredible developed India. Momentos were presented to the eminent guests.
To commemorate the programme with another initiative of the Prime Minister
‘SWACHH BHARAT’ a plantation drive was executed in the school premises
by all the guests. The programme lasted for one hour with the vote of thanks by
Vice-Principal of the school.

On 14th April'2022. Doon International School,Jammu reverberated with loud cheers during the Baisakhi celebration
held in the school premises which was aptly decorated depicting the joviality of the harvest season.
The festivities began with the recital of 'Shabad Kirtan' followed by speeches & poems explaining
the significance of the day. The whole school came alive with the brilliant dance performances by
the senior class students. A medley of cheerful songs enthralled the audience. The purpose was to
make the students aware of the historical background, significance and relevance of Baisakhi. Dhol
beats, Punjabi folk and sweet halwa added absolute Punjabi flavour to the excitement.The enture
DIS faculty and the students participated in making the event vibrant and cheerful.The Chairman

STUDENTS GLOBAL AMBASSADOR PROGRAM organised by Centre for Education Development (CED)
& Global Talk Education (GTE – INDIA) which are globally acclaimed educational organisations
working in the area of training and educational development under the mentorship of Dr.
Priyadarshi Nayak ( Founder and Chairman CED and GTE India ) and Mr. James Martin (President and
CEO GTE Canada). Bhavyejot Singh competed with around 15 speakers from reputed CBSE schools
across the country and exhibited his incredible potential through remarkably articulated speech on
the topic “ Yoga And Meditation Can Heal The Physical And Mental Diseases Of Human Beings” and
impressed all the International Jury Members with his amazingly realistic and pragmatic reply for
the jury question. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Uzoma Ihedirimadu Abudu (Ambassador
of Education from Africa) and the Jury consisted of the phenomenal International scholastic
personalities like Mr. Jordan Wolff (Head of English Literature Department Harvard University), Ms.
Anya Sahoo from Ukraine, Dr. Kostyantyn Rybachuk (Certified English Language Examiner from
United Kingdom), Ms. Alina Fedorova (Co founder IASGA, Switzerland) and Ms. Vinita Kher (Former
Director DPS Society India ) . Bhavyejot Singh has also qualified for the next level of the program that
will be held at an international platform.
